Tracey: Mmhmm right.  On your website you talk about how much religion has impacted you.  How has becoming a born again Christian changed you? (Tracey)

Bryan:  Becoming a born again Christian back in 2000, I guess the first thing that is knowing Christ, and being able to make a decision, to really change my life, was the first thing.  And after that, it’s like, slowly but surely getting in his word, and reading his word.  You know, I really started to realize, and learn who I really am, what my nature is as a human being.  It’s just really, I knew my heart was good in a lot of ways you know, but really I was very, our nature is a very selfish nature, and I think I learned a lot about myself.  And I learned so much about his character, and his nature.  And you know really, the last 5 years I’ve been walking with him, and learning how to adopt his nature, his heart.  So I think the way it’s changed me, is he’s given me a new heart you know.  I feel like I just look at life through a whole different lens now.  It’s not the same.  Before, when my life was sort of focused on me, you know being selfish, this selfish way of living.  It was all about me, about my career, about my money, about all those different things, you know.  And I was just living this life, where I was sort of just sitting on a throne, you know.  It wasn’t god.  I claimed to be a Christian, but really there was no evidence in my life that I was living the life that I was talking about, you know.  And God had to sort of shake up some things in my life to actually cause me to realize that I needed him you know.  And without him, my life would have slowly but surely, turned into nothing.  So, I’m still under construction mind you, but I’m definitely very blessed, and I’ve experienced a joy that I never have before.  So I’m so grateful for my life with God, and I’m continuing to learn, and continuing to learn more about myself, and how much more I still need to change.

Tracey: What’s the best part about being a dad? (Kay)

Bryan:  The best part of a dad is so many things.  Being called daddy is just the best thing in the world.  Being called daddy, that’s so cool.  Being able to walk in after I’ve been gone all day or gone for the weekend, and seeing their faces when they watch me walk through the door.  They can’t wait to give me a hug.  Being given the opportunity, that’s one of the only titles God gives us the opportunity to share with him, and that’s being a father.  So it’s a great opportunity to shape somebody, and to teach them, not only how to live a right life, but how to go out in the world, once they, and to go change the world, and make an impact on their society, and their reality you know.

Tracey: Right, that’s a good thing to try to do.  What would you say if Justin and/or Jackson decide to follow in dad’s footsteps and become a musician? (Kay)

Bryan:  First of all I’d say “Are you sure you want to do this?”  You know, I’ll be excited about whatever they want to do.  If they are real passionate about making music, or being a doctor, or flying a plane, whatever it is you know.  I would just ask the questions, “Hey is this something you are extremely passionate about?  Are you willing to put every bit of effort in your waking hour, to give this everything you’ve got?”  My advice would be “Don’t do it half-way.  Do it all the way.”  And I’ll be there to help you the whole way.

Tracey: Aww sounds good.  Wasn’t there pictures

of your one son with a guitar on the site?

Bryan:  Yeah, yeah there are a couple of shots on there.

Tracey:  Does he actually play or was he just posing with it?

Bryan:  Oh no, it’s just something that makes noise to him right now.  I don’t think he really understands the concept of playing.

Kay:  I’m sure he’ll pick up on it later.

Bryan:  Yeah, definitely.

Tracey:  Yeah.  For the final question, is there anything you would like to say to Pop Blitz and the people reading this interview?

Bryan:  Well for the people that have been Bryan White fans from the beginning, or just from the last few weeks I’m glad that something I’ve done musically has made an impact on you.  I hope I continue to do that in the years to come.  I’m excited about the music that is coming, and excited for you to hear it.  So thank you.  To the people that don’t know much about Bryan White, I’d love for you to just check out the new cd, check out the website, and see if my music is something you might want to tap into.  Nonetheless thank you for listening, and maybe I’ll get a chance to make an impression on you real soon, out there on the road.

Thanks to Bryan for talking with us, we had a great time. Thanks to Sharon for setting it up, and keeping in touch all these months. And thanks to Dana and Tiffany for their questions.
