Tracey: Hey this is Tracey!

Liz: Hey this is Liz!

Tracey: Pop Blitz Magazine brings you yet another exclusive interview.  We are talking to Pop/R&B singer, Tre Scott.  How’s it going Tre?

Tre: It’s going good, how are you?

Tracey:  Good.  What's in store for Tre these days?

Tre:  Doing a lot of writing.  Trying to get a deal.  Getting ready to go out on a little mini tour in June and July.

Tracey:  Fun, fun.

Tre:  Getting ready to do some shows.

Tracey:  That’s awesome.  Who are you going on tour with?

Tre: Actually, Ben Bledsoe.

Tracey:  Sweet, is it coming to Minnesota?

Tre: I don’t know the exact, it’s hard to know those things.

Tracey: Right.  What made you change your name? (Ashley)

Tre: The whole name change thing, it’s not that I wanted people to not know that I was from O-Town. I just kind of didn’t want to be Trevor from O-Town.  I wanted to have identity.  I don’t mind if people say the guy from O-Town, by the name Tre Scott.  My full name is Trevor Lee Scott Penick.  So I just shortened the Trevor, added the Scott.  I told a couple of people about it, and they were like “yeah that sounds cool, I like that, I like that” so it kind of grew from there.

Tracey: Awesome.  What was your most memorable performance?

Tre: Wow.  Most memorable performance.  Oooh, that’s a good question.  It would have to be one of two, I believe.  We did a performance in Chicago, at Soldiers Field, for 75,000 people for a Radio Bash.

Tracey:  Wow.

Tre:  That was the most people we had ever performed in front of live.  It was really awesome.  But then we had a performance in New York, at the Hammerstein Ballroom and Clive Davis came out and presented us with a platinum album.  That was really nice too.

Tracey:  Sweet.

Tre:  So those were both great.  Pretty memorable.

Liz:  I bet.

Tre:  Yeah.

Tracey:  How do you pick between those two?  You can’t really.

Tre: Yeah, you can’t.  It’s two completely different, the New York one was inside, Hammerstein Ballroom.  It was a great venue, great show.  The audience was great, and then Clive comes and gives us the award.  It was our own show.  It was all of our fans.  But then, the Chicago one, it was just so many people, that it was crazy to be a part of that many people.

Tracey:  Were you nervous?

Tre:  A little bit.  But you know, once you get out there it all goes away.

Tracey:  Doesn’t matter how many people?

Tre:  The thing about Chicago, being outside, is that you can still see everyone.  You can really see that there is 75,000 people there, because it’s outside, and it’s sunny outside.  Whereas, when we’re on tour with Britney Spears every night, there’s 20,000 people, you can only see the first group of people.  They get blocked, the higher they go up.  You know you’re in an arena, but you can’t really see all the way to the top.  The Chicago show you could see everyone.

Tracey:  Right, right.  Me and Liz actually went to the Britney tour.

Liz:  Yes, we did.

Tre:  Yeah, that was fun.

Tracey:  That was crazy.  Way up in the balcony, or wherever we were.

Liz:  Yeah, we went to see you guys.

Tre:  Nice, thank you.

Liz:  You’re welcome.

Tracey:  We didn’t go to see Britney.  Are you planning to perform in Germany one day and will be your cd be available in Germany? (Katie)

Tre:  I’m pretty sure that that is eventually going to happen. I definitely know that we have fans over there, so whatever ends up happening, I know that, so the cd will definitely be available over there.  And I will probably be making a journey.  I hope, I mean if things go well then yeah.

Tracey:  They hope too. We received a lot of O-Town related questions.  Here are a few of them.  How does it feel being out on your own, doing your own thing, compared to how it felt being in O-Town? (Aubrey)

Tre: It’s cool, you know writing music, and recording, and doing everything all by yourself is different.  It’s cool, because it’s all you, you know.  It’s totally me, totally Tre.  The only thing is that, I haven’t really experienced yet, when I’m on tour.  When you’re in a group, like when I was in O-Town, there are 4 other guys that went through every single thing with me.

Tracey: Right.

Tre:  There were 4 people who knew exactly what I was going through, like the waking up, and doing the interviews, the performing, everything.  Whereas, when you’re by yourself, yeah you have people out on the road with you, but you’re the only one who is doing everything.  No one else can truly, truly relate to you on the same level.  That’s what I think will be the hardest thing.

Tracey:  That will be different.

Tre: Yeah.

Tracey: What do your fraternity brothers think of all your success/fame and did they watch you on "Making the Band"? (Jill)

Tre: Oh yeah, they watched all the time, you know.  They watched every week.  It was great.  They were so supportive of me.  Even the guys that are still in the fraternity now are supportive of everything of Tre Scott, you know.  The guys that I go to school with, are so cool.  That’s what fraternities are, a group of guys, no matter when you came in.  I could come in in 95 or I could come in in 2005.  You’re going to have a bond with that person, because of the fraternity.  They’ve all been very supportive of me.

Tracey: Awesome.  How has life changed since being in O-Town?

Tre:  Life is definately.  Before O-Town, I was just trying to do what I’m doing.  And when you get to that point, doing the same things all the time, you’re gone all the time, you don’t get to see your friends and family as much.  Another one of the hard things.  But you take it as it comes, because you want to do what you love.  That’s just how it is.

Tracey: Are you still friends/cool with the guys? (Ashley)

Tre: Completely.  110%.  It’s so weird, everybody hears the word break-up, and they think we’re not friends anymore.  We are all still very very good friends.  I’m actually going to be hanging out with Jacob and Ashley today, in San Diego.  Ashley’s doing a show down there, so me and Jacob are going to go to it and hang out after.  So yeah, I’m definitely cool with him.  I just got off the phone with Dan, right before Josh called.  So yeah, we talk all the time.

Tracey: That’s good.  Yeah, for every single interview that we have done with boyband members, they always ask us “are you still friends with them, are you still friends with them, do you still talk to them?”  They always ask us that question.

Tre:  Yeah.
